Site Design

Our web site begins by describing "Who We Are." Here, readers can learn about the history of the congregation, its rabbis and its buildings. This is also the place to find out about the people who work at Temple and those who lead it. Directions, contact info, and more, can also be found in this section.

An ancient Jewish teaching (Mishnah Avot X:X) tells us that ""the world rests upon three things: Torah ("learning"), Avodah ("praying"), and G'milut Hasadim ("Caring")." It makes good sense, and if it's good enough for the world, it's good enough for our website. Sections labeled Learning, Praying, and Caring form the core of our site, and describe our values and our practices in each of those areas. We believe, in line with the mishnah, that a balanced Jewish life -- that of an individual or of a whole community -- must draw from all of these ways of living.

Rounding out the site are dynamic, ever-changing features: our calendar, and our blog. We calendar with Google, which allows us to add a great deal of value to the site with little effort. You may sort the calendar as you wish, print daily, weekly, monthly, or agenda versions, and bring events from our Google calendar to yours with a single click. The calendar is updated regularly; check back often. Temple's blog is a place for our staff and leaders to offer frequent commentary and observations about life at Temple and beyond our walls.

Enjoy the text, enjoy the pictures, enjoy the music. We hope they enrich your day, and we hope they lead through our doors and into our community!
