First in the minds of many Jews are the "High Holidays" of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. These are the days when synagogues overflow with people seeking a connection to God, to Tradition, to each other.
Temple Mount Sinai is lucky to have sufficient space to welcome all who wish to pray with us on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. No "tickets" are required, and no sections of the sanctuary are reserved. We invite all to join us, and to feel at home.
In 2009, the holidays fall as follows:
- Rosh Hashanah begins on Friday evening, September 18. Our Evening Service begins at 8 pm. On Saturday, September 19, our Children's Service begins at 9 am, and is followed by the Morning Service at 10:30 am. On Sunday, September 20, we will continue in the spirit of Rosh Hashanah at 10 am with a creative service and learning program, in conjunction with our Religious School.
- Yom Kippur begins on Sunday evening, September 27. The Kol Nidrei Service begins at 8 pm. On Monday, September 28, we experience a full day of worship, study, and fellowship, as follows: Children's Service, 9 am; Morning Service, 10:30 am; "Face to Face" Chavurot, 12:30 pm; Afternoon Service, 2 pm; Grief Support, 3:30 pm; Yizkor, 4:30 pm; Concluding Service, 5:15 pm; Break-Fast, 6 pm.
