Kabbalat Shabbat Service with Los Pasajeros
A Special Musical Shabbat featuring Los Pasajeros
Join us in the Zork Sanctuary for a special Shabbat evening service weaving together the majesty of our tradition with the beautiful sounds of the culture of El Paso del Norte. From generation to generation Jewish tradition has utilized the music of local culture as a part of worship. The first Friday of May the tradition continues as we celebrate with local 10-piece band Los Pasajeros. Carefully exploring the intersection of Jewish tradition and mariachi (regularly used in solemn occasions and named by UNESCO as an “Intangible Cultural Heritage”), on May 4th Temple Mount Sinai continues its 120-year tradition of exploring Judaism in the context of our local community.
