High Holy Days Food Drive

In the Haftarah portion on Yom Kippur morning, Isaiah counsels that God doesn't wish a fast merely "to starve your bodies" but to "share your bread with the hungry."

Hence, as is our tradition, Temple Mount Sinai is coordinating a fund drive to benefit El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank, the only food bank in El Paso, Hudspeth and Culberson Counties and the 6th largest in the nation in food distribution. In the past twelve months, over 180,000 neighbors have relied upon the Food Bank to put healthy, nutritious meals on their families’ tables.

For every dollar raised, EPFH can provide seven meals and help alleviate food insecurity.

A donation can be easily made through the Temple’s form below.

Checks can also be made out payable to Temple Mount Sinai with “Fighting Hunger” in the memo line. While donations could certainly be made directly to El Pasoans Fighting Hunger, a group donation from Temple demonstrates our commitment as a Jewish Community to helping the larger El Paso Community meet this serious need.

Please note there is a 3% convenience charge for credit cards. If you pay by e-check or with your debit card there is no fee
