High Holy Days Food Drive
In the Haftarah portion for Yom Kippur morning, the prophet Isaiah teaches that God does not desire a fast merely “to starve your bodies,” but rather calls upon us to “share your bread with the hungry.” Inspired by this timeless message, Temple Mount Sinai is coordinating a fund drive to benefit the Kelly Center for Hunger Relief.
Founded in 1999 as the Kelly Memorial Food Pantry, Kelly has grown into a comprehensive hunger-relief organization serving approximately 700 clients daily and distributing over 4,500 food boxes each month, reaching 15,000–16,000 El Pasoans monthly, including many children. Today, the Kelly Center offers not only nutritious food, but also clothing support and life-changing programs like FreshStart to help individuals achieve greater stability and dignity.
Your donation helps ensure that our neighbors in need have access to healthy meals and essential resources.
While donations may certainly be made directly to the Kelly Center, a group donation from Temple demonstrates our commitment as a Jewish Community to helping the larger El Paso Community meet this serious need.
