Israel Trip Day 8 - March 19, 2018
TMS GOES TO ISRAEL!
March 19, 2018 - Day 8
Day Eight - a most exciting, adventurous agenda with non-stop sights and action!!!
We started our day with a visit to the Ahava factory outlet where many of their mineral-rich products are bottled and packaged.
Then on to Masada, King Herod's 2,000-year old palace built after the fall of the 2nd Temple.
A cable-car ride to the top of the mountain (for most of us; 7 brave and physically-fit
members of our group, including Rabbi Ben, made the arduous climb!) revealed an amazing labyrinth of storage rooms, bath houses and even a synogogue!
This UNESCO World Heritage Site also served as a refuge and fortress for the Jewish Zealots' last stand against the Romans.
Next we made our way to the Dead Sea where we floated together, arms linked, laughing and shouting like children!!!
We capped off our day with a visit to Genesis Land,
riding camels to a Bedouin tent where we were served a lavish meal by our gracious host "Abraham".
Whew! Many thanks to our knowledgable guide B.G. and our driver Abed for another fantastic day!
